Chelsea’s housing ranges from flat-fronted Georgian terraces on Cheyne Walk and Victorian villas near Chelsea Green to modern riverside developments around Chelsea Harbour. Basement extensions and kitchen-to-garden openings are extremely common.
Victorian hallways with black-and-white marble chequerboard tiles are typical, as are limestone and honed marble kitchen floors in basement extensions. Bathrooms often use Carrara or Calacatta on floors and walls, and garden terraces use Portland stone or travertine.
Basement floors need low-moisture methods and attention to underfloor heating. For period hallways we restore original tiles to a soft, historically appropriate sheen and re-point tired grout lines, rather than pushing a high gloss that would look out of place.
Every job in Chelsea is quoted at a fixed price. Projects under 100 m² are priced per project; over 100 m², per m². Send a few photos for a fast indicative price.
